Back in 2017, ORTEC Logiqcare kicked off with one big goal: making patient care better by putting the power of data science in doctors’ hands for smarter decisions in diagnosis and treatment. But we quickly discovered that without high-quality, accessible medical data, we cannot model the required algorithms, and that even applying the smartest algorithms will not work if it does not have access to that high-quality data in clinical practice. That’s why we created the LogiqSuite—to make sure the right data is available and usable for clinicians right when they need it.
Fast forward to 2019: We joined forces with UMC Utrecht’s U-Prevent initiative and took things a step further. We completely rebuild the U-Prevent platform—making it fully MDR compliant, rock-solid, and ready for large-scale use. One year later, we launched the brand-new U-Prevent under the Medical Device Directive and Medical Device Regulationcompliant, and we’ve kept it free to use for everyone.
In 2021, U-Prevent made waves by being referenced in the ESC CVRM Guidelines, cementing its place in the cardiology world. We kept the momentum going and in 2024, we updated U-Prevent to match the latest CVRM Guideline updates. To make things even easier for doctors and organizations, we rolled out U-Prevent Connect, so care organizations can easily link their patient file systems to U-Prevent and prepopulate patient data, saving time and reducing the risk onerrors. It’s a big leap toward making top-notch Software as a Medical Device a reality.
In the meantime, LogiqSuitehas evolved into a robust medical data management platform, fully compliant with security and privacy standards and ready to support trialsrequiring GCP compliance with an eCRF. Today, LogiqSuiteserves multiple research consortia and acts as a critical data infrastructure for solutions such as CAR-T cell production platform AIDPATH and acute care Stroke Triage App. The PROSPERA trial leverages both our U-Prevent and LogiqSuiteplatforms, unlocking the full potential of their integration. This combination enables CDSS implementation in clinical practice, seamlessly connected to patient files, while monitoring U-Prevent usage and collecting valuable data. These capabilities empower ongoing research, continual learning, and continual improvement.
Right now, U-Prevent is all about predicting and treating cardiovascular risks. But we’re just getting started! As more doctors bring U-Prevent into daily practice, we’ll expand it with smart calculators for other medical domains, helping to deliver better, data-driven care across the board.
